About Mr. Mcvey
Aristotle once said, "Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom." Over these past few years, I have had the chance to learn about the world around me, and discover how I fit in it. Through experience, I found that my passions revolve around teaching, music, service, and my family.
Growing up, I always knew that teaching was a possible career choice for me. However, I never expected to find so much joy in doing such an important job. Should I even call it a job if I love it that much? I love teaching because I can be creative, entertaining, and impactful. I love waking up in the morning, excited to teach a lesson that may change a student's thinking, perception, or even life.
Music is another passion of mine, and I use it often in my classroom. Sometimes I play music while students are working, both independently and collaboratively. Every now and again I will incorporate music within my lessons. As you can tell, music plays a big role in my everyday teaching. It also gives the students a chance to experience learning in a different way. I like to represent content in various ways to activate the different strengths and learning styles my students have.
